- In order to have a successful learning environment, you must show respect of your classmates, staff and yourself. This includes being on time for class, using appropriate language, wearing appropriate clothing, and demonstrating mature behavior. Failure to comply will result in a Behavior Referral.
- You are expected to work diligently and quietly each and every day during class.
- The work completed for the class must be your own. If you are caught with another student’s papers or copying another student’s work, you may lose both credit for all work completed, and/or have to start at zero hours, and/or receive a Behavior Referral. This is considered plagiarism. (see PHASD Student Code Handbook)
- Your progress will be continually monitored. The following guidelines will be used to ensure your success:
30 hours of class time: 1/2 of your work completed
45 hours of class time: 3/4 of your work completed
60 hours of class time: All of your work completed
- In a 30 hour course (ex. Career Ed), progress will be checked at 10 hours (1/3), 20 hours (2/3), and 30 hours. Please note: Failure to maintain sufficient progress will result in the issuance of a Behavior Referral and or failure of the course. Credits will not be issued until all work is satisfactorily completed.
- Absences: You may be dropped from class upon the 13th unexcused absence; if you are in a 30 hour course (e.g., Career Ed) you may be dropped upon the 7th unexcused absence. Please sign-in on the attendance sheet to ensure you are marked present.
- Tardies are recorded. You are expected to be in the classroom when the bell rings. Behavior Referrals are issued upon the 3rd tardy - this is also recorded as an unexcused absence.
- Work until the end of the hour, cleaning up ONLY when given permission. At the end of the hour neatly stack textbooks at their proper locations. Textbooks must not leave the classroom.
- You must have a pass, signed by the teacher, to leave the classroom.
- Cell phones, tablets, laptops and other personal electronic devices may only be used for educational purposes. Any other use is grounds for issuance of a Behavior Referral and/or further disciplinary action.
- Classroom technology is to be used to complete your coursework. Any other use is grounds for receiving a Behavior Referral and/or being restricted from using classroom technology. Please be respectful of the technology by keeping a clean workstation and using it appropriately.
- As the student, you are expected to have read and understand the course expectations guidelines as well as the course requirement sheets which contain directions for each required assignment.
